xxTAKES - Our Biweekly Update
Welcome to the fourth edition of xxTAKES, the official newsletter of xxTALK!
Today we are wrapping up our week 1 at talkshop and we could not be more excited! We are grateful for all the amazing womxn who have decided to join us and embark on this journey to get to know more about themselves, their inner sexuality and their relationships, with a supportive community of other diverse women looking to do the same.
1) Workshop: Understanding Erogenous Zones by Dr. Aline Zoldbrod
Last week we got the chance to learn about intimacy and orgasmic meditation by the amazing Vicky Aldana and next week we have the privilege to hear from our expert and author Dr. Aline Zolbrod, Ph.D. (you may remember her from her blog post getting the touch you crave). She will be talking about how your childhood experiences and culture may have affected how you feel today regarding touch and sexual pleasure and she will be using SexSmartBodyMap© as a way to understand your erogenous zones. This free session is open to all members of the xxTALK community and will take place on Friday, September 25 at 7.30 pm EST.
Aline will be personalizing the session based on the attendees, so when you sign up please fill in her questionnaire. Sign up link here!
2) Our expert network continues to grow!
We are very fortunate to be working with incredible professionals in the sex therapy and coaching field. This week, we are featuring Carla Rosinski. She is a mental health counselor and sex therapist based near Boston and she is facilitating one of our talkshop groups.
Hi! My name is Carla Rosinski. I’m a licensed mental health clinician, certified sex therapist, and consultant located north of Boston in Salem Massachusetts. I have 20 years of experience working in community mental health and wellness, the past decade of which I’ve spent building and running a thriving private practice. I work with people of all genders, sexualities and relationship structures seeking to embrace greater joy, mindfulness and authenticity in their lives.
3) What else we have been obsessed with
As a startup born online, social media is second nature to us and has been one of our main tools in getting the word out and trying to build a community of like-minded women. However, social media can have adverse effects: we watched The Social Dilemma this week and have been wondering about how to use these tools responsibly for xxTALK and how social media has personally impacted us (positively and negatively). Have you seen the documentary? We would love to hear about your perceptions on the movie, feel free to e-mail us!
As always, you can write to us at hi@xxtalk.co with any comments, suggestions, or questions on the newsletter or what’s on your mind.
With love,
The xxTALK team
